The Team
Who We Are
Gloria Hampton
Artistic Director
A native of Northern Virginia, Gloria “Glo” Hampton was an award winning dancer who went on to attend Towson State University as a dance major. Beyond college, she trained with legends Frank Hatchett, Gus Giordano, Joe Tremaine and Charles Kelly, to name a few. Her dance credits include the World Expo in Australia, “Stuff”; a talent based TV show in the 70’s, and shoe shows for Reebok, as well as dozens of industrials.

In 1994, Glo opened her own dance studio which rapidly grew into one of the top in the country. 15 years later, she sold that studio to join forces with another studio looking to expand and, once again, was able to help propel that studio to national distinction.

Ms. Glo’s expertise in technique combined with an eye for graceful artistry has won her uncountable choreography and coaching awards, as well as the award for Best Dance Instructor in Loudoun County, VA. Most recently, she was named Teacher of the Year, a coveted title representing the Star Dance Alliance.
With alumni performing worldwide in the most prestigious companies such as American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey, Houston Ballet, Ballet West, Stuttgart Ballet, Nashville Ballet, and Giordano Dance Chicago, Glo gives credit to the technical excellence she brings to her training. Other students have been seen with the Radio City Rockettes and numerous Broadway shows including Hamilton, Chicago, West Side Story, The Music Man, A Christmas Story, Get on Your Feet, Wonderland, and Come Fly With Me. Students have also been seen in Steven Spielberg’s motion picture rendition of ”West Side Story” and the hit television shows “So You Think You Can Dance” and “World of Dance”.
Ready for the next challenge in her teaching career, Glo will be taking over as the head dance coach of the Hulu Original series, “Dance Moms: A New Era”
